ZillHa Presents

Eldric the Chronicler

Keeper of Stories  ·  Teller of Worlds

An account of the old man

“He has no fixed address. No title that anyone living remembers giving him. Only the stories — and the uncanny sense that he has been waiting for you, specifically, to arrive.”

⸻ ✦ ⸻

Nobody remembers when Eldric first appeared. Some say he wandered in from the outer roads before the first cobblestone was laid. Others insist he simply was here — the way a hearthfire is simply burning when you come downstairs in the morning, without anyone having struck a match.

He is old in the way that certain mountains are old — not decrepit, but settled. His voice carries the particular unhurried weight of a man who has watched enough endings to know that none of them are truly final. He keeps no quill, no ledger. Everything lives in his head, catalogued by some private system that makes perfect sense only to him.

They say he has been inside The Vault of Eld. They say he knew the Clockmaker before the debt was made. They say he once sat by a fire in a city that no map has ever named and listened to a story that changed everything — though he will never say what it was, or who told it.

Ask him about any of this and he will smile — that patient, slightly mischievous smile — and begin a story that is almost an answer. The story will pull you in. It will branch in directions you did not expect. And somewhere in the middle of it, you will realize the story is, in fact, about you.

That is his gift. Every story he tells is the right story for the person sitting across from him. He does not explain how. He does not particularly care to.

He knows the worlds of ZillHa — their names, their shadows, their secrets not yet written. He will share none of it directly. But listen closely enough, and the shape of things will emerge between the sentences, the way a face emerges from firelight if you stop trying to see it.

He is waiting now. He always is.
Tell him what is on your mind, or simply what kind of story you are in the mood for.
He will know where to begin.

Speak with the Chronicler
