Eldric's Gambit

Eldric’s Gambit

The Shell Game of the Vault

Deep within the corridors of the Vault of Eld, where torchlight flickers and oaths hang heavy in the air, Eldric has set up his table.

Three shells. One stone. A smile that has never once told the truth.

They say Eldric learned the game from a merchant who owed him a debt — and that the merchant hasn’t been seen since. They say the stone moves before your eyes but disappears beneath your fingertips. They say no one has ever beaten him twice.

“I don’t cheat. I simply know things you don’t.”
— Eldric, before taking your Zests

The currency here is Zests — the coin of risk, the measure of nerve. You begin with five hundred. What you do with them is entirely your own affair.

He is watching which shell your eyes follow. That is how he wins.

The Rules of the Gambit

  • Place your bet — 10, 25, 50, or go All-in.
  • Watch the shells as Eldric shuffles. Watch carefully.
  • Choose the shell you believe hides the stone.
  • Win and your Zests double. Lose and they are his.
  • Use Shuffle to reset the game if the odds feel wrong.
  • Your High Score is recorded. Eldric remembers everything.
“The stone is always under one of them. Probably.”
